1. The will is dated 22 February 1685, and probated 10 July 1686.
2. There is an inventory associated with the probate papers which contains 18 items totalling £14.15.07. This inventory was dated 26 May 1686, and signed by Peter Pemberton and John Leyten.

In the name of God Amen. George Pemberton of Wallesey in the County of Chester Yeoma being sick & weak of body yet of sound & good remembrance & knowing the uncertainty of this Life doe make & ordaine this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following First & principally I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it Hopeing through the merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to receive free pardon & remission of all my Sins Declareing my selfe to be of the beliefe of the Church of England as it is now by Law established & in order thereto I bequeath my body to Christian buriall to be decently interred in the Church or Church Yard at the psh: of Wallesey at the discretion of my Execut: hereafter named there to wait a Joyfull Resurrection & as to that temporall Estate the Lord in much mercy hath bestowed on me my will & pleasure is & I doe hereby bequeath to my Daughter Margrett Ranford for & towards the Maintainance & education of her two Sons Benjamin Ranford & James Ranford all my Tenem’t in Wallesey afores’d & the Rents Issueing & proffitts thereof to receive enjoy take & hold dureing her life if the originall Lease of the Sd Tenemt soe long continue She the Sd: Margrett Ranford my Daughter paying unto my my two Grandsons John Pemberton & Henry Pemberton the Sum of four pound yearly dureing the Sd: Lease they my Sd: Grandsons allowing out of the Sd: four pound yearly soe disposed as aforesd the one moity or halfe pte of all Leyes Lords Rent dues duties taxes ?? boardings or other charges & Reperations as they shall yearly become due & payable of the same, & if the sd: originall Lease be in being at the decease of my sd Daughter then my sd: Tenemt to remaine & bee to the use & behoofe of the sd: John Pemberton Henry Pemberton Benjamin Ranford & James Ranford to be equally divided & distributed share & share like & to be sett & Lett yearly for their use at the discretion of my Executr hereafter named Item my Will & pleasure is that if either of my sd: too grandsons John & Henry Pemberton die without issue then the sd; share soe disposed to them both as aforesd: to remaine enure & bee to the use of the survival of them & if both of them die without issue then to returne to the use & behoofe of my sd: grandsons Benjamin & James Ranford or the survivors of them & if either sd: Benjamin Ranford &/or James Ranford happen to die without issue then the sd: one moity soe disposed to their use as aforesd: to remaine & bee to the use of the survivors of either of them as it shall happen & if both the sd: Benjamin & James Ranford die without issue then to the use of the sd: John Pemberton & Henry Pemberton & the survivors of them & for want of issue in all my sd four grandsons then to the use & behoofe of the right heirs of the sd. Geo. Pemberton Item I leave to my daughter in law Eliz. Pemberton my hempen:kirk feather bed Item I give to John Ranford my great coat Item I give to my ?? cosine John Pemberton of Oxon & Peter Stasebrick of Liverpoole ten shillings apeice to be paid out of my goods whom I doe appoint & ordaine to be my Execut: & to the intent my body may be seemly interred I give firther for the discharge of my funerall expenses to my sd: daughter Margrett Ranford all my goods & moveabls Cattle & Chattle whatsoever & lastly I doe hereby revoke disanull make frustrate & void all of the [illegible] former Wills by me at any time heretofore made whatsoever & doe nominate this to bee my last will In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale this twenty second day of Feb one thousand six hundred eighty & five
