If you are talking about Richardsville, Va., that is where my father, Gordon Francis Clore grew up. His parents, Willie Gordon and Doris Eley Clore had a home and property which bordered on the Rapidan River. It was also the home of my great-grandparents, Ned and Ella Coppage Eley. My grandfather, Willie Gordon Clore, was stung by a yellow jacket at the age of 32 and died from that. He was at home at the time of his death. I don't have such deep particulars about Richardsville other than there was a country store which seemed to be the central point of the area. The store was run by a relative of ours and we called her Aunt Ella. I know she was married to a Walker. My grandmother had two brothers, one of which lived in Richardsville. His name was Carl Eley and he was married to Myrtle Walker Eley. The lived near the country store. Both are now deceased as is my grandmother and of course my great-grandparents. I also remember there were a lot of Martins who lived in Richardsville. The community has not changed much at all. Of course there are more homes now in the area but there is still the country store there. Other than that, it is the same. My parents still go to church in Richardsville to Oakland Baptist Church and my grandparents and greatgrandparents are buried across the road from the church. My parents now live in Spotsylvania County, my brother Gordon lives in Lignum which is just up the road a few miles from Richardsville. I also have two sisters, one lives in Spotsylvania County and the other lives in Stafford County. I hope I have been of some help. You stated that your mother's side of the family lived in Richardsville. Please let me know her name and her relatives. This is very interesting, don't you think? If I can be of further assistance, please just let me know.

Sincerely,

Linda Clore Hutton
