What To Do Next – Look for Your Confirmation Email

Your confirmation email will contain a link that you will want to click which will bring you back to the PFWW website and automatically confirm that your email address was entered correctly. That email will take a minute or two. While you are waiting, Here is some information:

Now that you are registered, we want to be sure you get the most out of it. The single most important idea about the Pemberton Family World Wide is that it is a place where, if you hit a brick wall (or already have) in your family history research, you can get help here to work through it, work around it, or failing those, you can redirect your energy into the projects that are making Pemberton research more fruitful. There is always something you can do to help move your work forward. Whatever you do to help put together the large Pemberton puzzle, you bring your own lineage that much closer to being perfected.

First, you need to understand that you are not yet a Member of the Pemberton Family World Wide. Registration is the first step and it give you the opportunity to explore the site more fully and to see who else is registered. You will also be able to contact members. However, you will not have access to the genealogical records until you become a member. We have done this so as to protect Pemberton pedigrees from being casually lifted and merged into the many trees on the internet that are not well researched or documented. This kind of mingling could as well be called mangling and it has lead to much confusion which only adds to the difficulty of good research.

On the other hand, please understand that your pedigree does not have to be perfect to be added to our site. There is a place for all kinds of information. We just have to let people know how much confidence they may place in the data they are looking at. We hope you will become involved and add your skill and energy to those of all the members. You will be able to find friends and collaborators, attend reunions, volunteer on an extraction project or a committee and have fun whilst you work.

May We Suggest

May we suggest that if you have not done so already, take a look at How to Make the Most of Membership. This little essay outlines the facilities available on the PFWW website and ways you can use them for your own goals.
