February 16, 2002 Received an email update on David from Shelly which follows:
Subject: Update on our family...
Date: Sat, 16 Feb 2002
David did not have any Chemo yesterday as planned. We are going to wait until this Tuesday and have a three-day regimen. They are yet again changing the treatment. We are hoping this time for a little less side effects.
It actually works out good that we did not do chemoÊas Sierra and Garrett both got sick yesterday. Sierra is running 103 temp and Garrett is having severe asthma attacks from the strong winds (almost 80mph) that we had this past weekend. Sierra will be seeing a doctor today. Gary and Bonnie both came up early this morning to help me with David, Garrett and Sierra. David is having a really bad day today!! It's amazing, one day you feel good enough to walk and the next you feel as if you cannot even put one foot in front of the next!!
Looks like everything is going well on the sell of our home. Escrow is set to close Feb 28th. That's in two weeks!!! Seems we have a moving party consisting of at least 30 men right now, which will be a huge help for us!! We will be moving to another house, a tad bit smaller and easier to manage, just 5 minutes from where we currently live. The kids are excited and glad they get to stay in the same school. I am excited because I am still close to their schools.
Thank you so much for the prayers and phone calls, they do David wonders especially on his bad days!!!

December 2001, David Pemberton is battling cancer. Friends and neighbors have established the Pemberton Assistance Fund to raise money to help with the horrific expenses that are being incurred right in the middle of an economic downturn. Here is the text of a notice these friends published in the Alpine Newspaper:
"Pemberton Assistance Fund"
Dave Pemberton, a long time resident of Alpine, active communiy member, local businessman, father of two and husband of loving wife Shelly, has recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Dave has been in and out of the hospital for the past eight weeks. He is tenacious and is fighting every step of the way. His battle has just begun as he has just concluded his first series of chemotherapy treatment. Dave is determined to win this fight and with your help, support and prayers, we can assist Dave and his family as they fight this traumatic disease.

December 4,1999 Lou Fleming was wed to George Small today in a beautiful ceremony in the Bellevue Hilton Hotel in Seattle, Washington. The bride is the daughter of Stanley and Velva Pemberton. The couple met during their travels with the RV group they both belong to. The bride and groom had several family members in attendance. Lou had her brothers George and Jack Pemberton and their wives Ulene and Charlet; her children Pat Stinnett, George Dowd, and Brenda Riordan; Pat's daughter Andrea and her husband Ken; and Lou's aunt Vangy Pemberton. The groom's family included his sister and brother Richard Small, and his son and daughter-in-law Brett and Amy and their three children. George Small is a retired chemist.
December 1, 1999 - jetBlue Airlines rolls out its first airplane painted with the color scheme designed by Joseph Pemberton and his team at the advertising firm Merkley Newman Harty in Manhattan, NY, where Joe works. Joe is the son of Jackson and Charlet Pemberton.

July 20, 1999,George Pemberton reports, "We added two grandchildren to our family. Late afternoon, Jenni and Nate Pemberton, of Bluffdale, Utah, had a baby girl, Dakota Marie, their first child. Early evening, Denelle and Stephen Pemberton of Lyman, Utah, welcomed their 6th child, a 5th son. They expect to name him either Elijah or Eli. Mothers and babies are doing well. We have 27 grandchildren and 38 decendents. That averages out to .585 decentents per year of my life - more than one every two years and we didn't even start until I was age 25! Wow! That means I have averaged almost one decendent per year, i.e., 38 in 40 years! By October it will be 39 in 40 years as Grant and Toni are expecting."
July 14, 1999 Ethan Pemberton and Emily Jennings were married and sealed in the Bountiful Temple. They will be flying to Hawaii for a honeymoon in the tropical paradise.

March 21, 1999 - Pemberton's Launch the PembrtonFamily.Com internet site - In response to popular demand and a need to publish family treasures for all Pemberton's to enjoy, Jackson Pemberton and his sons Bradley and Joseph recently started a repository for the publication of family photos, histories, etc. The web site is open to the public and all relatives who can show a relationship (by blood, marriage or adoption) to Addison John Pemberton are invited to add to the site. March 21, 1999 - Joseph and Jeannie Pemberton have a new addition! They will probably name her Claire [spelling may be different than this]. This is their second child. Mother and daughter are doing well. The baby was just over 7 pounds and 18 inches long. Joe are Jeannie are finishing up their college degrees this year.
February 18, 1999 - William C. Pemberton publishes "A remarkable new book". You may receive an invitation in the mail to buy a $39.95 book named "The New World Book of Pembertons". This came to us from 3687 Ira Road, Bath, OH, 44210, just a few days ago. It is probably nearly identical to the one I bought (probably from the same outfit) a couple years ago. That book was a bit of a dissappointment. There was nothing in it that was not available elsewhere for less money. I got out the previous book and discovered there was absolutely no reference in it as to the publisher so I was unable to confirm that it was indeed from the same publisher. The solicitation materials certainly looked familiar to me.
