Ancestry Ends Y-DNA Testing

June 5, 2014 – Ancestry.com announced today that they no longer offer Y-DNA or mDNA tests. We here at PFWW suspected that this might happened and encouraged all Pemberton DNA researchers to stay with Family Tree DNA, the world’s largest Y-DNA laboratory and the one that hosts the Pemberton DNA Project. If you have a Pemberton Y-DNA test at Ancestry, you will want to transfer those test results soon. Ancestry says they will not even be available on their website after September 5, 2014. This may presage the discontinuance of Autosomal DNA testing by Ancestry.

To transfer your Pemberton Y-DNA test results to the Pemberton DNA Project please go to this page on Family Tree DNA and scroll down to “Transfer Y-DNA46 with Y-DNA37 Upgrade”.
